How would you classify your latest work, what inspired its inception?

We’ve all experienced suffering and some of us still have lingering feelings of anger, sadness, grief or unforgiveness from past events that they haven’t come to terms with. I had to show real life events to connect with people that have gone through similar situations.  The hardest one to forgive was my mother but I finally have peace.

Leave a legacy for my family.  By writing my life story, I will show them what was happening in the world at that time, I will be helping my future family members to understand where they come from and to know themselves better.  They also could face similar situations and knowing their family history could have them make better choices for their life to be fulfilling and serving out their purpose in a greater way.

How long did it take you to complete?

It took me 7 years.  I wanted it to be the best version of my life story.  I have met amazing people on this journey to help me with their amazing expertise.

Who are some of your top 5 authors or writers you look up to & admire?

The Bible, Maya Angelou, William Paul Young, V. C. Andrews, Stephen King

Why do you write?

Here is a letter that I received that confirms the reason I wrote this book to help others.

I enjoyed the conversational tone of the book; it was as though I was sitting on a porch with you, listening to the entire story in wonder and concern and understanding and prayer. There        were moments I recognized. There were moments that a turn of phrase or a biblical quote, for example, touched me in an unexpected way. I found myself feeling open and vulnerable—and sad but in a good way, Your poem at the end still finds a way to leave my eyes watery with the knowledge that forgiveness is on the horizon.

What’s the biggest take away you want your readers to come away with after reading your latest work?

Forgiveness, It can help free us from the control of the person who harmed you.  When we hold onto resentment and anger, towards those that hurt you, it can lead to anxiety, stress, and even physical health problems. Forgiveness help’s release those negative emotions and will help us to move forward with our life.  No, its not easy, it takes a lot of work. I am a witness to it. I show examples in my book of how I had to forgive so many people.  The chains holding me for many years were finally set free to make better choices.

How is the writing/reading scene in your locale?

My story beings in Colorado in the 1960s.  The mountains will always be in my soul.  Nature has taught me how to be truly present and have awareness in my daily life.

The Shack by William Paul Young- focuses on forgiveness.  It will bring tears.

When did you first realize you wanted to become a writer?

While in foster care at the age of 7 years old.  I had a desire to help other kids. The dream never went away.

How have you evolved as a writer over the last year?

After years of struggling, simply existing, I now realize it was time to start believing in who I am and my purpose for being on this earth.   I want to spread this message throughout the     world for others to believe in themselves and to go after their own dreams.Trust your intuition, it’s there for a reason.

I have built my social media on Facebook, Instagram, and a website to help people by sending out into the universe positive messages.

If you could meet, have dinner, have a drink with anyone (writer/non-writer) (dead or alive) who would it be?

I would have to say Angelina Jolie.  As she stated in an interview when she was growing up she wanted to adopted because she was aware there were kids that did not have parents. She actioned that dream by adoption kids from around the world.  I really feel that Angelina understands that there are so many who are suffering out in this world who do not have their birth parents for many reasons   She is working in her own way to change it for the better.  I relate to her so much about the kids with no parents growing up and wanting to help those getting through it.

What’s next for you?

My book His Mosaic masterpiece is now also available in Spanish Translation.  Su obra maestra en mosaico on Amazon.   After a request from a reader requesting to have my book put into a Spanish version, I took on that challenge.  This could be the start to get into other translations…..Will be starting to write a children’s book about foster care and adoption. Children need to know that when they must leave their parents, it’s not their fault. They need to understand that they  have so much value and it’s so important for the choices they will make as they grow older will greatly impact their life.  They have so much purpose.
